About the walk

The JDRF One Walk is a day for the type 1 diabetes community to come together and celebrate raising funds and awareness to turn type one into type none.

In 2017, JDRF is excited to have Rob Palmer, TV presenter and adult with type 1 diabetes, supporting our event.
Rob will be speaking at points during the Walk Day and opportunities to ‘meet and greet’ Rob will be shared closed to the date of the Walk.

Throughout the day the following activities will be run:

  • Children’s activities such as colouring in and face painting
  • Sporting activities suitable for kids and young adults
  • JDRF research information shared in the JDRF Marquee
  • Trade stands with information from medical device companies and diabetes related information
  • T-shirt competition and other games such as tug-o-war
  • Music throughout the day
  • Snap chat filter and social media check in points
  • Food stalls such as sausage sizzle, coffee and ice cream
