How to log your steps

If you’re taking on the One Walk Step Challenge in March 2025, you’ll need to know how to log your steps on the One Walk website. Here's how to do it. 

There are two ways to log your steps

Option 1: Connect your fundraising page via a fitness app (i.e. Strava, Garmin, Fitbit or MapMyFitness) 

Option 2: Log your steps manually 

Log your steps MANUALLY

This is a great option if you're using a pedometer or a different method of tracking your distances. 

Follow these instructions:

  1. Login to your fundraising page
  2. Go to 'My Dashboard' and then 'My Fitness Activity'
  3. Scroll down to 'Add Activity'
  4. Enter the 'Date' and 'steps'
  5. Hit 'Save Changes'

Your steps will be added to your fundraising page to track your progress throughout the month. 

Log your steps using FITBIT

If you track your workouts with Fitbit, your distances will automatically add to your tally. Please note, Fitbit will only add steps tracked as a workout to your profile. 

Follow these instructions:

  1. Download the Fibit app and set up account
  2. Login to your fundraising page
  3. Go to 'My Dashboard' and then 'My Fitness Activity'
  4. Go to 'Connect your preferred Fitness App'
  5. Click your chosen app
  6. Follow the prompts to connect your account

When using Fitbit, you must 'start' an activity and 'SAVE' it or your steps will not automatically add to your page. If you are having issues, try syncing through BOTH your Fitbit and the Fitbit app on your smartphone.?

  • Select 'start your workout' in the app (on your phone) or on your watch. Once you end your workout, save your workout. Your activity will be published and displayed on your fundraising page the following day. 

If you have synced your app already but it is not working, please log in and re-connect it.

Your tally will be updated each day (with the previous day's step count).

Log your steps using MAP MY FITNESS

If you track your workouts with MapMyFitness, your distances will automatically add to your tally.

Follow these instructions: 

  1. Download the MapMyFitness app and set up account
  2. Login to your fundraising page
  3. Go to 'My Dashboard' and then 'My Fitness Activity'
  4. Go to 'Connect your preferred Fitness App'
  5. Click your chosen app
  6. Follow the prompts to connect your account

When using MapMyFitness, you must 'start' your workout, 'stop' your workout and then 'SAVE' your workout.

  • Select 'start your workout' in the app (on your phone). Once you end your workout, save your workout. Your activity will be published and displayed on your fundraising page the following day. 

If you have synced your app already but it is not working, please log in and re-connect it.

Your tally will be updated each day (with the previous day's distances).

Log your steps using STRAVA

If you track your workouts with the Strava app, your distances will automatically add to your tally.

Follow these instructions: 

  1. Download the?Strava app and set up account
  2. Login to your fundraising page
  3. Go to 'My Dashboard' and then 'My Fitness Activity'
  4. Go to 'Connect your preferred Fitness App'
  5. Click your chosen app
  6. Follow the prompts to connect your account

Then, once you've connected your app, you can start your next workout. 

  • Select 'start your workout' in the app (on your phone). Once you end your workout, save your workout. Your activity will be published and displayed on your fundraising page the following day. 

If you have synced your app already but it is not working, please log in and re-connect it.

Log your steps using GARMIN

If you track your workouts with the Garmin  app, your distances will automatically add to your tally.

  3. Go to 'My Dashboard' and then 'My Fitness Activity'
  4. Go to 'Connect your preferred Fitness App'
  5. Click your chosen app
  6. Follow the prompts to connect your account

Then, once you've connected your app, you can start your next workout. 

  • Select 'start your workout' in the app (on your phone). Once you end your workout, save your workout. Your activity will be published and displayed on your fundraising page the following day.
