Amy’s journey. Walk with me to help find a cure for T1
On 25th of August 2022, my life was turned upside down, when I was admitted to hospital (ICU) and diagnosed with T1 diabetes. A life changing chronic illness, I knew little about.
My strength and resilience has got me through some of the toughest days. These day that are still so raw and overwhelming.
My new normal consists of an insulin pump, insulin injections, finger pricks, sleepless nights, never ending alarms to treat low/high glucose levels and carb counting every single meal. It’s the simple things in life that I no longer take for granted.
There is no prevention and there is no cure. This is the reality of life with T1D.
How can you help? Dig deep and donate to find a cure for T1D. All money raised goes towards T1D research.
I'm walking in Adelaide to turn type one into type none!
I'm joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) at Wigley Reserve on Sunday 30 March 2025!
Why? To help fund life-changing research aimed at improving lives and curing T1D.
Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
Please support my walk today.
