I'm walking for Sam Jones

Sam’s story

We are taking part in JDRF One Walk to turn type one into type none and in particular to support our little hero - Sam.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that can strike at any time. It affects more than 120,000 Australian families, and 7 people are diagnosed every day.

Sam was diagnosed at a little over 18 months old, it was a scary time, and Sam has been living with type 1 now for 4.5 years. He has had close to 10 thousand injections, amongst many other uncomfortable and invasive monitoring to keep him healthy and allow him to enjoy being a kid. He certainly lives life to the fullest and has never complained about any treatments he receives - he is an absolute inspiration!

So our family is walking with the #JDRFbluearmy to raise funds for research to cure, prevent and better treat type 1 diabetes.

Please DONATE NOW and support our walk to change the lives of Australians living with T1D.

And finally, If you would like to join us and support Sam along with all of the other families on the walk on Oct 27th please let us know.

Thank you,

Jones family

A great cause. Our daughter , now age 34 , has had type since age 10. She qualified as a Nurse and also trained as a Diabetes Educator. Have a look at her website (particularly her blog there) you may find some useful info to assist you and your son. We realise it’s easy for your son, or you to manage it ...... I used to work with your Dad. Please give him my best wishes.

You’re such a trooper Sam! My mum has lived with Type 1 diabetes for most of her life, 3 injections a day. I’ve seen first hand how hard it can be to manage. Hoping this helps towards creating a much easier life for you! x
