Personal Diagnosis
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 16, which was a huge shock. It affects every decision I make every day and it can be like a very annoying sibling. Luckily being diagnosed at a later age, I was able to self manage my diabetes and understand it. I couldn’t imagine how much harder it would’ve been if I was diagnosed earlier! My parents have been my biggest support, and although my mum can sometimes show maybe a little too much support… I am grateful for everyone who had helped me along the way. Let’s find a cure!I'm walking in Adelaide to turn type one into type none!
I'm joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) at Wigley Reserve on Sunday 30 March 2025!
Why? To help fund life-changing research aimed at improving lives and curing T1D.
Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
Please support my walk today.
