My daughter Gemma has Type 1 Diabetes. She is 15, she was diagnosed at age 10. She will have to live with the unrelenting 'ups and downs' of T1D for the rest of her life. It’s a tough job but Gemma is amazing.
Everyday is full of finger pricks, infusion sets, insulin pump alerts, carb counting, blood sugar monitoring and the unrelenting consequences of having diabetes but she is positive and resilient.
There is no cure for diabetes just management, and that is far from ideal.
Let's help find a cure.
On Sunday 22nd September we will be walking in the JDRF One Walk along the beautiful Davistown waterfront. We’d love you join us!
Gemma has set up a team for the day called ‘Joey’s T1 Team’ so if you'd like to join and help raise funds for awareness and research into a cure please join in.
Alternatively, you can DONATE NOW to support JDRF inprove the lives of Australians living with T1D.
