I'm walking for a world without type one diabetes

I'm fundraising for Type One Diabetes

I'm proud to be joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) at Burswood Park on Sunday, 9 March 2025!

While I don’t have T1D myself, I’m deeply moved by the fact that so many people live with this invisible illness. Every day, over 280 Australians are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. For those who have it, T1D means a constant, 24/7 fight. They face over 180 extra decisions every day just to stay safe and healthy, all while managing the emotional, physical, and financial challenges that come with it.

Type 1 diabetes is a condition that is not always visible, and this makes it even harder for those who live with it to be understood. It’s a condition that doesn’t take breaks—there are no days off from the responsibility of managing blood sugar levels, insulin doses, and countless other aspects of the condition. This is why supporting research and raising awareness is so important.

This walk is my way of standing alongside those affected by T1D and supporting the critical research that can improve lives and one day, find a cure. I’m excited to take part in this event and contribute to a future where people don’t have to face these challenges every day.

Please consider supporting my walk today. Your donation will go a long way in funding life-changing research and providing hope to families living with T1D. Every step counts, and together, we can help make a lasting impact.
