I'm walking in Port Macquarie to turn type one into type none!

My names Shiann I’m a young mum of two kiddos while living with T1D

I got diagnosed on my 3rd birthday and have spent my whole life battling with this illness having a few close calls resulting in being hospitalised due to DKA, I wanna show my kids despite having a life long illness it won’t stop me from trying to help raise money to find a cure so I’ve decided I'm joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) at Westport Park on Sunday 23 March 2025!

Why? To help fund life-changing research aimed at improving lives and curing T1D.

Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
