My Story

I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 16, a difficult diagnosis for a young women at that age.

Let me give you an insight with what diabetics deal with daily, it can be very daunting and draining for the mind of a diabetic.

There are days where you can wake up and be so overcome with sickness, they’re days you wake up and just not want to deal with this illness that takes up most of your days trying to figure out what is going to happen within your body next, there is no roadmap on what scenarios you body is going to throw at you. It’s truly lot for anyone to deal with at an age mentally and physically.

This October I'll be walking 100KM to acknowledge 100 years since the ground-breaking discovery of insulin.

I will be setting up a team if anyone would like to join me on this adventure. I am asking if any one willing could donate to my page which goes directly to JDRF, a little goes a long way.

All of the donations raised will go towards diabetes research, also funded by diabetics themselves.

This illness is so overlooked and the lack of education about how severe of an illness is tragic.

Diabetes is a autoimmune disease that makes the body attack itself, the method of treatment also has its challenges due to causing comas or death in server cases.

In October we’re trying to raise awareness and money for diabetes so we can get a step closer to making our lives easier with new gadgets and to finding cures . Thanks so much everyone,  I appreciate your involvement .
