We're walking in Newcastle to turn type one into type none!
We're joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) at the Thomas Holton Park Playground in Croudace Bay Park on Sunday 9 March 2025!
Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
We’re walking to support my two-year-old Amity, who was recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, and to raise awareness for this condition that affects so many families. Every step we take is for my child and all those living with T1D. It's a journey of resilience, hope, and love as we navigate daily challenges, from managing blood sugar levels to the constant vigilance needed to keep my child healthy. This walk isn’t just about raising funds; it’s about spreading awareness, fostering understanding, and showing that with support, education, and research, we can make a difference. Together, we can help create a world where kids like mine can live without fear of what tomorrow might bring. Every stride is a step toward a brighter, healthier future for those battling Type 1 diabetes.
Please support our walk today.
