I'm walking in Perth to turn type one into type none!
I'm joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) at Burswood Park on Sunday 9 March 2025!
Why?
Because in July 2023 my life changed forever. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was 25 weeks pregnant with my little boy. I was oblivious to diabetes previous to this and didn’t realise what this diagnosis now meant for me and my future. Taking this on board, head first while being a first time mum has been the most challenging fight. Facing hypos during the 2am feeds and the no sleep while facing hypers. Please educate yourself on Type 1 diabetes for those around you so you are able to help when they need.
This fundraiser will help fund life-changing research aimed at improving lives and curing T1D.
Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
Please support my walk today.

You have shown such strength since the moment you found out and I’m so proud of you Tia. I wish I could afford to donate much more to this great cause. Hopefully one day there will be a cure. Love you daughter number 3 xx
