I'm walking on to turn Type One into Type None!
I’m walking for a future without Type 1 Diabetes – and I need your support!
On Sunday, 30 March 2025, I’ll be joining the world’s largest walk to help fund life-changing research aimed at improving lives and, ultimately, finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).
Why does this matter?
T1D doesn’t discriminate – it can strike anyone, at any time. Every single day, 8 Australians are diagnosed with this relentless autoimmune disease. Once diagnosed, there’s no break, no pause – just 24/7 management and an extra 180 decisions a day to stay safe and healthy.
Our family knows this all too well. Two days before his 11th birthday party, our little champion Orlando was diagnosed with T1D. Overnight, life changed. Unless you live it, it’s hard to understand just how demanding this condition is – the constant monitoring, the insulin calculations, the sleepless nights. But despite all of this, Orlando shows up every day, facing the challenges of being a young teen with a strength that has taught me the true meaning of courage, patience, and resilience.
That’s why I’m walking – for Orlando, for every child, teen, and adult battling this condition, and for the hope of a future without T1D.
Will you help?
Every - tax deductable - $10 or $20 makes a real impact. Every donation adds up in the fight against this disease. If you can, please support my walk today – together, we can make a difference!
