I'm walking in Sydney to turn type one into type none!
In June 2024, my life changed overnight when I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Suddenly, I had to learn how to manage my blood sugar, count carbs, and inject insulin multiple times a day just to stay alive. It was overwhelming at first, there’s no break, no cure just constant management and problem-solving. Some days are harder than others, but through it all, I found so much strength, especially in this incredible community.
I'm joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) at Cathy Freeman Park on Sunday 23 March 2025.
To help fund life-changing research aimed at improving lives and curing T1D.
Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day.
Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
