Willow’s Journey – Walking for a Future Without Type 1 Diabetes
In November 2023, our beautiful daughter Willow was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at just four years old. After spending six nights in the hospital, we learned how to manage her glucose levels and adjust to life with T1D. It was an overwhelming and emotional time as we navigated the challenges of this lifelong condition, trying to find our new normal while balancing our already busy lives.
Despite everything, Willow has been nothing short of amazing. She started her first year of primary school this year, continues to do dancing and swimming, and is embracing life with her usual energy and enthusiasm. This diagnosis brought a massive lifestyle change, but our little warrior has taken it all in her stride, proving just how brave, strong, and resilient she truly is.
We feel incredibly blessed to have access to the technology and resources that help make life with T1D as manageable as possible. But there is still so much more to be done. That’s why we are raising funds for Type 1 Diabetes research—to help find better treatments and, one day, a cure.
