Katelyn Gwilliam

I'm walking for Walking to support two family members who have type 1 diabetes.

I'm walking in the Illawarra region to turn type one into type none!

I'm joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) at Reddall Reserve on Sunday 16 March 2025!

Why? To help fund life-changing research aimed at improving lives and curing T1D.

Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.

In August 2024 just a week after Hudson’s 5th Birthday he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This meant a lot of lifestyle changes for not only Hudson but also mum and dad. Hudson is such a smart and brave little boy and has adapted so well to such a big change at 5 and I couldn’t be more proud of him.
