I'm walking for Ariah Tomkins

Unaware and uneducated almost cost our child

I'm walking to raise funds for my daughter Ariah and for other people suffering from T1D
Being a teenager and starting year 7 is scary enough, imagine, you were doing that and learning how to manage your new diagnosis of type 1 diabetes.. not only that, throw in over protective parents because they're terrified to lose you or have you go back into a Diabetic ketoacidosis attack needing urgent medical attention.
Had there been advertising or information being spread about the symptoms of Type 1 diabetes we could have potentially had our daughter diagnosed and treated earlier.
We have so many irrelevant advertising being ran and zero for Type1 diabetes, a autoimmune disease that is incurable currently,  I hope to raise enough donations to make a small difference to anyone suffering in silence!
This is our daughter Ariahs (12)  reality, we will forever support diabetes research and inspire others to do the same to one day have a cure for T1D I pray that in this lifetime we can achieve that.

I'm walking in Penrith to turn type one into type none!

I'm joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) at Tench Reserve on Sunday 2 March 2025!

Why? To help fund life-changing research aimed at improving lives and curing T1D.

Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.

Please support my walk today.
