Turn type 1 into type none!
Our amazing son, Jake, was unexpectedly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2023. What was meant to be a normal trip to the GP soon turned into an ambulance ride and week long stay at the children’s hospital. Life certainly flipped upside down in an instant. Carb counting has now become second nature and Jake quickly overcame his needle phobia!
This journey has not been easy and has impacted our whole family but Jake has been phenomenal throughout the whole journey! He has shown a quiet determination and resilience well beyond his years.
To help fund life-changing research aimed at improving lives and curing T1D, we will be joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) on Sunday 2 March 2025!
Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
