I'm walking on the Central Coast to turn type one into type none!
I'm joining the world's largest walk for a future without type 1 diabetes (T1D) at Davistown Waterfront on Sunday 6 April 2025!
I do this walk for my sister Toni, my niece Leilah, and my friend Lauren, who all need multiple injections every day just to stay alive. Unlike Type 2 Diabetes, Type 1 cannot be controlled by diet or lifestyle. There are currently more than 130,000 Australians living with T1D, and 8 Australians are newly diagnosed every single DAY. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy. There is nothing anyone can do to prevent T1D, and for now, there is no cure.
